The rich past of Château de Birazel
The Château and its vast natural park are located in the town of Saint-Hilaire-de-la-Noaille, found in the historical region known as Entre-Deux-Mers. The castle’s name can be traced back to Jean de Birazel, who was gifted the castle in 1661. The castle's history dates back to the 12th century, during which the impressively tall tower was built. Its purpose was to prevent and foresee any external threats, and communicate with other surrounding castles.

An elegant and lush park, verdant and full of life
The gorgeous park of Château de Birazel now spans over 14.5 hectares after its expansion in 2018, and is a perfect embodiment of the ideas, the ambitions, and the philosophy of the people working at the Château. The team shares a love of nature and tradition, and takes it upon themselves to help preserve them.
The Ruisseau de Marquelot, protected under the Natura 2000 classification, crosses the estate from below the castle, and plays a major role in strengthening the park's biodiversity, making its protection a vital matter.
To further the park's development, 6 hectares of truffle oaks have been planted, alongside 2 ha of olive trees, as well as almond trees and lavender. A multitude of hives can also be found. The park may open up to the public in the future, with a walking path to let you appreciate the scenery and all its natural wonders.
